Discovery Park in Pleasant Grove, Utah

One of Pleasant Groves best known parks is the Novell Children’s Discovery Park located at 1550 North 100 East. in Pleasant Grove, Utah.  Discovery Park is broken out into “zones,” and each zone has something unique for the kids to do, see, learn, and play with. It’s a very unique park and lots of fun, especially for older children. It does have some shade, but can get hot so pack lots of water and snacks and try going in the morning or evening during the summer. (If having trouble finding it or if you have questions call the recreation department at 785-6172.)

Kennecott Utah Copper Mine in Bingham, Utah
As the World’s largest open-pit copper mine it’s a great site to visit, especially before the summer heat really kicks in. It’s open to visitors from April to October 8th and admission is only $5.00 per car so pack that mini van full of friends! The visitors center opens at 8:00 am and closes at 8:00 pm, seven days a week. You do not need a reservation, and your $5 is even tax deductible. My biggest tip would be to bring quarters for the binoculars or bring your own pair.
The phone # is: 801-252-3234 and you can find a map to the mine here. Yo can find their main web site here.
